What being on this list does and doesn't mean

Country availability is a gate, not a qualification. Being on the list means YouTube will let a channel based there join the Partner Program at all. You still have to clear the thresholds — 1,000 subscribers for ad revenue, plus the watch-hours or Shorts-views bar — and pass a channel review. The full requirements cover the rest.

The lower 500-subscriber tier for fan funding is a separate question. It comes from the expanded Partner Program, which YouTube rolled out to its own shorter list of countries, not to everywhere on this page. Check that list separately before counting on the 500 route.

What counts is the country on your channel, not where you happen to be sitting. It has to match a country where you can hold an AdSense payments account, because that is how YouTube pays you — and that pairing is stickier than people expect. AdSense does not let you change the country on an existing account: if you move, Google's own instruction is to close the account and open a new one.

If your country is not on the list, there is no queue to join and no published timeline. YouTube has added countries in batches over the years without announcing them in advance. The off-platform paths — sponsorships, affiliate links, your own products — have no country gate at all, and are covered in the guide to earning before you qualify.

Where the “share monetized” column comes from

That column is ours, not YouTube's. It is the share of the channels we have checked in each country that showed the public signals of a monetized channel. It is filled in for 49 of the 138 countries so far — the rest have not reached the sample size where a percentage means anything, and show a dash instead of a guess.

Read it as a property of the channels we checked, not of the country. Our sample leans towards large channels that are currently popular, so a low share does not mean creators there rarely get monetized. The full dataset has the sampling method, the four-tier verdict breakdown and a CSV.

One wrinkle worth naming: 1 country in our data is not on YouTube's list at all. The country comes from what the channel reports about itself, so this happens when a creator has moved, left the field wrong, or is based in one country and paid through another. Those rows are excluded from the table above rather than presented as eligible.

How this list is kept current

The 138 entries are transcribed from YouTube's own Partner Program availability page, last checked against it on September 9, 2026. Nothing is added by inference — if a country is not on YouTube's page, it is not here.

A few names are spelled the current standard way rather than YouTube's wording: Czechia for Czech Republic, North Macedonia for Macedonia, Ireland for Republic of Ireland, Türkiye for Turkey. They are the same places, and the search box accepts either spelling.
