What we store, why, who else handles it, and how to get it deleted.
Last updated: October 4, 2026
The short version
MonetizationKit is built and run by its founder, Super Lede. The checkers work without an account, and we keep as little as we need to run them. There are no ads or advertising trackers on the site, and we don't sell or rent personal information to anyone.
When you run a check
A daily counter. Each checker allows 20 checks a day. To count them we store a number per day next to a one-way hash of your IP address mixed with a secret key. The IP address itself isn't stored, and counters are deleted after about a week.
What you paste. We don't keep a record of what you checked tied to you. For YouTube checks we do keep the public channel data we looked up: name, handle, avatar, country, subscriber, view and video counts, and whether ads showed on the videos we sampled. That cache, filled by checks on this website, makes repeat checks fast and feeds the per-country statistics we publish. Facebook pages and websites you check aren't stored.
Who we ask. To answer, our servers open the channel's public YouTube pages (without signing in), Facebook's public page plugin, or the website itself. Your IP address and cookies aren't passed on: the request comes from us.
The Chrome extension
What it sends, and when. Once you allow it, the Monetization Checker for YouTube extension sends a check request to us only when you ask for one: when you click its button on a YouTube channel or video page, open its popup on one of those pages, or submit a link in the popup. The request contains just the channel or video identifier, such as @handle or the video link without its playlist, time or tracking parameters. The extension runs on youtube.com pages so it can place its button and read the page address. If you open the popup on another site, it reads that tab's address only to tell that it isn't a YouTube channel or video, and sends nothing. It sends nothing while you browse and doesn't look at your other tabs.
On our server. Extension checks count toward the same 20 checks a day as the website, using the same hashed counter described above. If a recent result for that channel is already in the website's cache, the extension shows it without changing it. Results we fetch fresh for the extension are stored separately from the website's cache, kept for up to about 4 days, and never used in the statistics we publish.
Analytics. Extension checks that reach our server are counted with Vercel Web Analytics like website checks. To do that, the request's IP address and user-agent string are passed to Vercel, which uses them to work out your country, device type, browser and operating system. Vercel keeps that data under its own policy; the copy of these events in our database is deleted after about 90 days.
In your browser. The extension keeps your most recent results, up to 20, so reopening a result within 10 minutes doesn't use another check. Older ones are deleted the next time you use the extension, and all of them when you close the browser. It also remembers that you allowed it to send checks. Removing the extension deletes both.
MonetizationKit's use of information received from the Chrome extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you sign in and use the Tracker
You sign in with a code sent to your email or with Google. We store your email address, plus the basic profile details Google shares if you use it. For the Tracker we store the channels you add, any watch hours you type in from YouTube Studio, your plan, and a log of which milestone alerts we've already sent you so none goes out twice. The daily subscriber and view numbers we record for a channel are public data, shared by everyone who tracks that channel. Some Tracker actions have their own daily limits, counted against your account ID and deleted after about a week, like the checker counters.
Signing in sets cookies that keep you logged in. We never get access to your YouTube, Google or Facebook account.
When you pay for Tracker Pro
Payments are handled by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. We give Stripe your email address and account ID, and keep your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, your plan and the date you're paid up to. Stripe's handling of your data is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Emails we send
Sign-in codes when you ask for one. If you're on Pro, an alert when a tracked channel reaches 90% and 100% of the 500 and 1,000 subscriber thresholds. No newsletters, no marketing. To stop alerts, remove the channel from your dashboard or email us.
Emails are delivered by Resend.
Analytics, cookies and other sites
We also store production page-view events for internal reports: page paths, referring hostnames, timestamps and a visitor identifier hashed separately for each day. We do not store raw IP addresses, user-agent strings or URL query parameters in these reports. First completed registrations and real payments are counted once per account; these account-linked counting records are deleted with the account.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and a few actions, such as running a check, adding a channel to the Tracker or starting checkout. For each it records the page address, the referring site, your country, and your device type, browser and operating system. It doesn't use cookies. Visits are counted with a hash of the request that changes every day, not an identifier that follows you around the web.
The only cookies are the sign-in ones. A couple of small preferences, like dismissing the language suggestion, are saved in your browser and never sent to us.
Some images load directly from other companies' servers: channel and page avatars from YouTube and Facebook, and the launch badges in the footer from Fazier and Smol Launch. Those servers see your IP address, as with any image on the web.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Our database runs on a server we manage. It and the site are hosted in the United States.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Resend delivers email.
- Google provides sign-in with Google.
If you sign in with Google, Google's handling of that data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We share information with anyone else only if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Check counters: about a week. Account and Tracker data, including the alert log: until you delete your account. Channel results fetched fresh for the Chrome extension: up to about 4 days. Public channel data in the check cache: after 30 days we remove the channel's name, handle and avatar and keep only what the statistics need: the channel ID, its country, our verdict and the signals behind it (such as the subscriber count and whether ads ran). Channels someone tracks in the Tracker keep their name and avatar so the dashboard can show them. When we stopped using the YouTube API on October 1, 2026, we replaced everything we had collected through it with what the public pages show, or deleted it. The daily numbers the Tracker records are deleted before they are 30 days old. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.
Our page-view event records are kept for about 90 days. Daily aggregate reports may be retained longer without account identifiers.
Your choices
You can remove tracked channels yourself in the dashboard and cancel Pro under Manage billing. For anything else, email support@monetizationkit.com from the address on your account. We'll respond within 30 days. You can ask us to:
- send you a copy of the data we hold about you;
- correct it; or
- delete your account and everything tied to it.
Some laws, such as the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California, make these your legal rights. We offer them to everyone. If you're unhappy with how we handled a request, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, tell us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. Questions go to support@monetizationkit.com.
